So, after much back and forth we now have the majority of the online presence of Yoper Linux relaunched.

The main news portal is what you’re looking at right now.

The forums will be available at http://forums.yoper-linux.org/ , wiki at … http://wiki.yoper-linux.org .

The development interface is at http://powerplant.yoper-linux.org . The external page elements will be made available from the main page shortly.

It was planned to have a single user login entity allowing to just login once and be automatically authenticated in all websites. We have a solution pending but we are not sure whether this will eventuate.

In the meantime it is recommended to simply use openid to simplify logins .

Now let’s get back to the fun stuff , getting our RC2 out of the door. Officially at last.

The main software repository is now available at its final place and no further outages are expected on this end.

The collaboration interface is at least up and running, but it lacks the content. I’ll still attempt to recover information from the database but it does not look to good at this stage.

As you may have noticed the site is rather locked down right now. Due to many things being shifted around and security measures not in place yet this will stay for approximately another week. However anyone willing to help out should contact me directly so that we can add individual accounts for now.

About the RC2 release … . Well technically we could do it right now … . However I’d like to have our infrastructure in place again to process any feedback in a proper way. Right now we have no means of building packages in a structured way . So until at least the svn repository is up and running again and at least allows us to store our team efforts I’d like to hold off. Any input appreciated … .

Hi,

One mighty hard disc crash later we faced the prospect of painfully restoring the websites as our backups where already tainted by a slowly dying hard disc.

Instead we’ll be pushing out a new version of the Yoper website which has been in the making for a while now.

The main yoper software repository will be online around the 12th of April until then please use one of our mirrors. The rsync access for mirror updates is restored so that critical software updates are available.

Stay tuned for updates.
